Kaleidos is a tool for creating shader patterns. At the moment, Perlin noise, Cellular noise and Reaction diffusion are available in the editor, as well as many parameters for interactive adjustment of shaders (including their warp, movement and interactivity). The most important feature is perhaps the finely controlled palette onto which noise values are mapped

Kaleidos also has a gallery where you can view and sort created patterns, and a sandbox in which you can try drawing quirky animated shapes with them

Export of shaders is possible in various formats:

  • Image
  • Video - four containers: MP4, GIF, WEBM, MOV
  • GLSL
  • FRAG
  • WebGL
  • Godot 4 - three targets: 2D, 3D, SKY
  • UNITY - BUILT-IN or URP, for both: 2D, 3D
  • LÖVE2D

The application can be useful both for developers who would like to play with noises using a more casual and stylized interface, and for other users who would like to express their creativity and create unique atmospheric animated patterns

And 100+ ready-made shader presets will be available in the application

Sick little tool, well done! Easy to sync with music with Mosh Pro :D

Really nice, though I wish some shaders wouldn't have their pixels cut off when you export them.

do you mean exported shaders are not pixelated? we are trying to understand whether that's something that we can fix, or something where we can more tooltips/explanations in the app :)

i can't unzip the win64 version

hi! so sorry to hear that. we are currently looking into this issue!!

what i can propose as an alternative for now is a steam key. Kaleidos is launching there with no problems

hi again! can you try to download it one more time? some bytes were indeed corrupted because of parallel uploading on my side. i double checked whether it can be unpacked and it does!
sorry for this one

works now

great! have fun! hope it will change your score

Do any of these formats work in construct 3?

sadly, it doesn't. and most probably won't work ever :(

Godot export seems to be grayed out—how do I fix this?

hi! most probably Surface/Lit is turned off in material params. this parameter defines whether material can affected by any light in godot

there is also "LIGHT" parameter in Kaleidos that will additionally create script for OmniLight3D (you add it as a child node for mesh)

If you make something in this, is it yours to use however?

oh yeah, forgot to mention here in description that every single shader in Kaleidos (created or bundled) is under CC0 license. so you can use it however you want without even mentioning us :)
